Moroccan Expats Flock to Tangier for Summer Vacation, Praising City's Charm

As in previous summers, Tangier has attracted many Moroccans living abroad (MREs) this year, especially those living in France. They declare their love for the city.

"I was fascinated by the hidden treasures of the old medina, and particularly impressed by the architectural beauty, the impeccable cleanliness and the warm welcome of the residents. Our journey also led us to explore three museums, each telling a part of the rich and varied history of this magnificent city," Naïma, an MRE from Paris who is spending her vacation in the city of the Strait for the first time, told Le360.

Saïf Eddine, an MRE from France, is also enjoying his vacation in the city of Tangier. "We chose Tangier as a family vacation destination and it was a revelation. The unique architecture of the city, with its multiple facets, particularly struck me. I was also seduced by the cosmopolitan aspect of Tangier, its delicious cuisine and the kindness of its inhabitants, which made our stay unforgettable," he testifies.

Some MREs have fallen under the charm of the city of the Strait and are even considering settling there. This is the case of Rachida, an MRE from France, on vacation in the city with her family. "The beauty of the city has enchanted us all. The idea of settling here one day is germinating in my mind, so much do I feel connected to this place," she said.

Lina, another MRE from France, also says she is seduced by Tangier, which she considers "one of the most wonderful cities in Morocco." "What makes it unique is its ability to offer a perfect harmony between the sea and the mountain. The inhabitants are incredibly welcoming and there are a multitude of fascinating places to explore, which makes each visit here special," she attests.
