Moroccan Expat, 62, Dies from Coronavirus in Madrid Amid Spain’s Lockdown

A Moroccan national residing in Spain, who contracted the Coronavirus a week ago, died last Saturday, March 14, at the Infanta Leonor Center in Madrid.
Married and a family man, the 62-year-old Moroccan expatriate, originally from the Moroccan Rif, suffered from several chronic illnesses, including kidney failure.
Having undergone 3 heart surgeries in the past, the man, well known for his strength of character and ethical sense, presented several cardiovascular disorders during his lifetime.
Since Saturday, Spaniards have been subject to home confinement for a period of 15 days. These drastic measures, implemented in the hope of curbing the epidemic, limit travel, except for work, the hospital or food stores.
