Moroccan Engineers Develop Innovative Mask-Making Machine to Boost Production

A team of Moroccan engineers and industrialists, under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry, has just set up a machine for producing double-strap protective masks.
This is a first in Morocco. The device, which is a pure Moroccan product, consists of a "mask square manufacturing machine and another Ear-loop" which is used to weld the straps. It will now allow the Moroccan industry to have a machine capable of helping to increase the production of masks in order to better meet the demand, both nationally and internationally, reports.
During the presentation of the machine in Casablanca, the Minister of Industry declared that "this project consecrates a technological and industrial success allowing the national mask industry to go beyond the production of raw materials, and thus develop local production".
According to Moulay Hafid Elalamy, with this device, "the national industry is making an important technological leap". He also noted that "all the parts, i.e. more than 400 mechanical, electronic and pneumatic components, have been entirely machined and manufactured in Morocco by Moroccan teams." The purpose of all these efforts, he said, is to work to "do without imports as much as possible."
As for the CEO of Somaca and vice-president of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Mohamed Bachiri, he noted that "this machine illustrates the know-how and very high-level industrial skills of Moroccan engineers and technicians, and augurs well for the development of the national industry and Made in Morocco," the same source specifies.
