Moroccan Economist Crowned Miss Arab World 2020 in Cairo

The Moroccan Ilham El Makhfi was elected Miss Arab 2020. 22 candidates from 12 Arab countries participated in the crowning ceremony that took place this week in Cairo, the Egyptian capital.
At 28 years old, the holder of a Master’s degree in Economics was awarded a diamond ring, jewelry from Erian Fahim and a gold brooch offered by the Tunisian Sami Joyce. The Moroccan beats the Egyptians Nourhan Anmed and Ahlem Souweidy. The titles of 3rd and 4th runners-up were awarded to the Algerian Souha Zaid and the Iraqi Maryam Ahmed.
The candidates from many Arab countries paraded in evening gowns designed by Egyptian and Emirati fashion designers.
The fourth Moroccan to win the Miss World Arab contest since its launch in 2006, Ilham El Makhfi expressed her joy at winning this crown on Egyptian soil, while hoping for the end of the Covid-19 pandemic.
