Interrupted for two years, Miss Arab USA returned in 2022. The competition is "based on the desire to advance the cause of young Arab women," says the Arab-American Organization (AAO) which initiated it. The organizers exclude the swimsuit category, as it is a question of "selecting an honorable young Arab woman representing Arab culture in the United States and around the world for a year".
