Moroccan-Dutch Champion Beztati Retains Glory Lightweight Title in Dominant Win

The Dutch-Moroccan kickboxer Tyjani Beztati, 25, retained his lightweight title by defeating the Japanese Kaito Ono on Saturday, August 19 in Ahoy, the Netherlands, as part of Glory 87.
A new victory for Tyjani Beztati (25-4, 9 KO) who was defending his lightweight title for the fourth time. He fought again like a true champion with decades of experience. For five rounds, he dominated his Japanese challenger, the kickboxer Kaito Ono, on points. Blows and strikes, speed... The champion overcame his opponent. He retained his title by unanimous decision of the judges (50-45). "My next opponent? I don’t care, because everyone can come," Tyjani Beztati said after the fight.

Born in Amsterdam on October 21, 1997 to a Moroccan father from Tetouan and a Surinamese mother, Tyjani Beztati started kickboxing in 2007. On September 4, 2021, he won the belt and became the new Glory lightweight world champion by unanimous decision against Elvis Gashi. He defends his title three times between 2022 and 2023 and retains it by successively beating Josh Jauncey, Stoyan Koprivlenski and Petchpanomrung Petch.
