Moroccan Drone Strike Thwarts Polisario Attack in Western Sahara

The Moroccan army would have destroyed with an armed drone a Grad rocket launcher of the Polisario Front, with which the militiamen of the separatist movement were preparing to carry out an attack in the Moroccan Sahara.
The Moroccan drone would have hit on Saturday, November 11, the vehicle transporting the Grad rocket launcher and another transporting Polisario militiamen who were going to carry out this attack against Smara, reports the Far Maroc forum, specifying that this foiled attack caused several deaths and injuries.
In recent weeks, the Polisario has carried out two attacks against the city of Smara, recalls Defensa.com. The first, which took place on October 28, left one dead and three injured, all civilians. The second, which occurred on November 5, did not cause any victims, but residents of the city claim to have heard explosions near the city’s airport.
Morocco has not published any results of the judicial investigations announced by the public prosecutor, even though more than two weeks have passed since the first attack. Last Wednesday, the Polisario would have carried out another attack near the Tamekrout military base, near Zagora.
