Moroccan Doctor Charged for COVID-19 Treatment, Sparking Outrage

Admitted urgently to the Cheikh Zayed hospital in Rabat, following a coronavirus infection, a specialist doctor at the Temara hospital, was surprised to have to pay a large bill at the end of his hospitalization.
The National Federation of the Health Sector quickly took the floor to denounce the opportunism of the establishment in this time of pandemic, especially since "the practitioner had deposited a guarantee check at the time of his admission to the hospital, before being ordered to pay a hefty bill", affirmed its Secretary General.
The hospitalization costs of covid-19 patients are in principle borne by the State, and therefore free for patients, adds the Secretary, who wonders about the motives of this act.
Alluding to the current solidarity of the private sector with the State in its fight against the coronavirus, the Secretary wonders "if the Cheikh Zayed hospital is not concerned by what is happening in the world and in Morocco in particular".
