Moroccan Dirham Weakens Against Euro, Strengthens vs Dollar: Bank Al-Maghrib Report

The Moroccan dirham depreciated by 0.26% against the euro and appreciated by 0.16% against the US dollar during the period of November 16 to 22, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).
During this period, no auction operation was carried out on the foreign exchange market, BAM indicates in its recent weekly bulletin.
Regarding the interventions of Bank Al-Maghrib, they were on average daily at 109.5 BMDH, including 40 BMDH in the form of 7-day advances, 41.7 BMDH in long-term repurchase agreements and 27.8 BMDH in guaranteed loans for outstanding amounts.
On the interbank market, the average daily trading volume was 2 BMDH and the interbank rate averaged 3%.
On the stock market, the MASI appreciated by 0.9%, bringing its performance since the beginning of the year to 11.9%. This weekly change mainly reflects the increases in the indices of the oil and gas sectors of 1.7%, banks of 1.1% and building and construction materials of 1%.
