Moroccan Dirham Weakens Against Euro, Gains on Dollar

The Moroccan dirham appreciated by 0.3% against the US dollar and depreciated by 0.4% against the euro, during the period from February 13 to 19, according to Bank Al-Maghrib.
During this period, no auction operation was carried out on the foreign exchange market, Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) specifies in its weekly bulletin.
As of February 14, 2025, the official reserve assets stood at 368.6 billion dirhams (MMDH), down 0.1% from the previous week and up 3.1% year-on-year, the same source said.
During this period, the volume of BAM’s interventions was brought to an average of 148.8 MMDH per day, divided between 7-day advances for an amount of 67 MMDH as well as longer-term repurchase agreements and guaranteed loans for respective amounts of 51.3 MMDH and 30.5 MMDH.
In the interbank market, the average daily trading volume rose to 1.7 MMDH and the interbank rate averaged 2.5%.
