Moroccan Dirham Strengthens Against Euro and Dollar, Reserves at 364.4 Billion

The Moroccan dirham appreciated by 0.26% against the euro and 0.85% against the US dollar during the week of September 19 to 25, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).
During this period, no auction operation was carried out on the foreign exchange market, the central bank specifies in its weekly bulletin.
As of September 20, the official reserve assets stood at 364.4 billion dirhams (MMDH), down 0.5% from the previous week and up 2.2% year-on-year, the same source said.
On the interbank market, the average daily trading volume was 3.5 MMDH, and the interbank rate remained at an average of 2.75%.
Regarding the stock market, the MASI index appreciated by 1.4%, bringing its performance since the beginning of the year to 18.1%. This weekly change reflects in particular the increases in the indices of the telecommunications sector by 5.9%, the agri-food sector by 2.4% and the banking sector by 1.2%.
