Moroccan Dirham Gains Against Euro, Slips Versus Dollar

The Moroccan dirham appreciated by 1.47% against the euro and depreciated by 1.06% against the US dollar during the period from November 7 to 13, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).
During this period, no adjudication operation was carried out on the foreign exchange market, the central bank said in its weekly bulletin.
The official reserve assets stood at 360.1 billion dirhams (MMDH) as of November 8, down 0.1% from the previous week and up 1.6% year-on-year.
On the interbank market, the average daily trading volume was 2.4 MMDH and the interbank rate averaged 2.75%.
On the stock market, the MASI gained 2.7%, bringing its performance since the beginning of the year to 21.4%. This weekly development reflects in particular the increases in the indices of the transport services sector by 11.6%, the banking sector by 3.2% and the buildings and construction materials sector by 2.6%.
As for the weekly trading volume, after an amount of 1.4 MMDH the previous week, it reached 3.4 MMDH, including 2.2 MMDH on the central market (shares) and 1 MMDH for the public offering of Crédit du Maroc shares.
