Moroccan Diaspora Remittances Surge 28.6% to 17.3 Billion Dirhams in February

Remittances made by Moroccans living abroad (MRE) increased by 28.6% compared to February 2022. This is specified in the monthly indicators of foreign trade of the Office des Changes.
Remittances from Moroccans living abroad (MRE) amounted to nearly 17.3 billion dirhams (MMDH) at the end of February 2023, compared to 13.45 MMDH a year earlier, an increase of 28.6% (+3.84 MMDH) compared to February 2022, specifies the Office des Changes.
As for the net flow of foreign direct investment (FDI), it stood at nearly 3.37 billion dirhams (MMDH) at the end of February 2023, up 53.6% compared to the same period a year earlier. FDI revenues, for their part, recorded an increase of 19.8% to nearly 5.03 MMDH, while expenses fell by 17.2%.

Moroccan direct investments abroad (IDME) stand at 3.24 MMDH, showing a slight decline of 2% compared to the same period in 2022. In parallel, the disposals of these investments amounted to 2.19 MMDH, down 11.6%. Thus, the net flow of IDME increased by 26.8%, it is further specified.
