Moroccan Diaspora Outraged by Flag Desecration at European Protest

The desecration of the Moroccan flag by Hirak du Rif activists is still provoking very strong reactions. After the Moroccan Parliament and the CCME, it is the turn of Moroccans in Europe to vigorously protest "this act that violates the honor and dignity of the Moroccan people".
In press releases made public, these associations have condemned these provocative actions which have nothing to do with freedom of expression, reiterating the attachment of Moroccans Residing Abroad (MREs) to the territorial integrity of the Kingdom and their mobilization to defend the sacred values of the nation.
According to Atlasinfo, the Belgian association "Moroccan generation" has strongly condemned this behavior which it described as "barbaric" and offensive to generations of Moroccans who have made enormous sacrifices for the independence, territorial integrity and development of the Kingdom.
The "MarBel" Association in Brussels has also firmly condemned this "vile and cowardly" act perpetrated by certain individuals whose "scandalous" approach has outraged all Moroccans.
For its part, the Moroccan Communication Association in Genk noted that no reason could explain this flagrant lack of respect for the sovereignty of a country.
Moroccan mosques in Europe have also joined the ranks of the outraged, denouncing an inconceivable irresponsibility that cannot be tolerated.
This is the case of the Union of Mosques and Islamic Associations of the province of Limburg in Belgium, which insisted on the need to stand up against these "despicable" actions aimed at undermining the stability and unity of Morocco.
The Council of Moroccan Mosques in the northern Netherlands also described the desecration of the national flag as blameworthy.
In France, the Association of Moroccan Sahrawi Tribes in Europe, while condemning the disrespectful act, stressed its commitment to defending the sacred values of the Kingdom and the symbols of its sovereignty, including the national flag.
Spain has not remained on the sidelines of the wave of complaints. The association "L’espoir en l’avenir" condemned the "irresponsible" behavior and "moral baseness" of a small group that had desecrated the national flag.
The Network of the Moroccan Civil Society of northern Spain and the Basque Country, based in Vitoria, according to Atlasinfo, stressed that this "irresponsible and intolerable act" constitutes "an abominable precedent" that undermines the feelings of all Moroccans, in general, and those of the diaspora, in particular.
The Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME) had also condemned, on Sunday, the behavior, describing it as cowardly and childish.
