Moroccan Diaspora Investors Demand Reform: Calls for Royal Support and New Commission to Tackle Investment Hurdles

Bouchaib Rami, president of the Club of Moroccan Investors Abroad, advocates for the establishment of a third neutral commission tasked with studying the reasons for the rejection of investment projects presented by members of the diaspora.

Bouchaib Rami, president of the Club of Moroccan Investors Abroad, made this plea on the occasion of the National Migrant Day, organized on Sunday, August 10 under the slogan: "The digitization project... strengthening proximity services for Moroccans abroad." On the sidelines of a communication meeting organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services on the occasion of the National Migrant Day on the theme: "Investment in the region: prospects and development," he told Al3omk that this commission should include specialized skills that would examine the files in detail and highlight the points of failure or manipulations hindering the projects, while working to identify the causes of the blockages and overruns that lead to the discouragement of investors.

According to Rami, investors are faced with "unjustified" bureaucratic and administrative obstacles, despite their willingness to bring capital and present development projects. He warns that the discouragement they face risks dissuading them from pursuing their investments in their country. Faced with this major difficulty, he asks that the projects of the diaspora benefit from special advantages and concrete facilities. He calls for them to receive the direct attention of King Mohammed VI in a message of support from the highest authority in the country, strengthening confidence and encouraging continuity.

Moreover, the representative of the regional tax directorate of Marrakech-Safi, has mentioned the importance of the National Migrant Day. This day "is a propitious occasion to welcome the Moroccan diaspora residing abroad, to know their expectations closely and to address their grievances," he said in a statement to La MAP. He was keen to specify that the tax department remains fully mobilized to improve its services and simplify procedures for the benefit of members of the diaspora.
