Moroccan Customs Seize 4 Tons of Cannabis Resin Near Tangier

The Moroccan authorities seized four tons of hashish on the night of Tuesday, May 7 to Wednesday, May 8 in Tangier. This type of operation is recurrent in Morocco, which is moreover considered by the United Nations as one of the world’s leading producers and exporters of this drug.
Four tons of cannabis resin! This is the result of an operation carried out by a mobile customs unit near Tangier, in northern Morocco.
According to a customs statement, "the drug was on board a utility vehicle with a falsified registration plate".
Based on many statistics, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) had already placed Morocco on the list of "major producers and exporters of cannabis resin".
As proof, in 2018, an official report had indicated that the Moroccan police had seized 52 tons of cannabis resin, 1.65 tons of cocaine and 1.3 million "hallucinogenic and ecstasy psychotropic tablets".
