Moroccan Court Upholds Suspension of Local Official Accused of Embezzlement

The Administrative Court of Casablanca has confirmed the suspension of the President of the Commune of Bir Jdid, Mouloud Skaoukaa, pronounced by the Governor of El Jadida on December 12 last. He is being prosecuted for embezzlement of public funds.
Mouloud Skaoukaa, a member of the Union of Socialist Forces (USFP) party, is no longer the president of the commune of Bid Jdid. Dismissed from this position on December 12 last by the Governor of El Jadida, Mohammed El Guerrouj, following a series of shortcomings, this sanction has been confirmed by the Administrative Court of Casablanca.
The general inspection of the Ministry of the Interior noted, during an audit, a series of failures related to the management of the commune, summarized in 45 points and addressed to the former president for justification, it is indicated. Among these notifications, 15 remained unjustified. They concern construction projects, calls for tenders and other public transactions, it is specified.
