Currency Exchange Thief in Al Hoceima Sentenced to 7 Years in Prison

Tried by the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal of Al Hoceima, an individual was sentenced to a heavy prison term for his involvement in the theft of a currency exchange office.
7 years in prison. This is the sentence that the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal of Al Hoceima imposed on the individual involved in the theft of a currency exchange office last March. In addition to the conviction, it also ordered the confiscation of the seized cash for the benefit of the Public Treasury and the other seized goods for the benefit of the State Property Administration. The thief had broken into a currency exchange agency on Abdelkarim El Khattabi Avenue in the center of Al Hoceima and had managed to steal an amount of 16,500 dirhams.
On March 16, elements of the regional judicial police service of Tetouan, in coordination with their counterparts in Al Hoceima, were able to arrest two individuals with criminal records, suspected of being involved in the burglary of the currency exchange office. The investigation reveals that the suspects had, once the crime was committed, left Al Hoceima to flee towards the city of M’diq. There, they rented a furnished apartment. After noticing their absence, the owner was forced to open the door of the apartment. He discovers there certain tools used by the criminals in the theft, including gloves and screws.
