Moroccan Court Seizes Assets of Armored Van Robbery Mastermind and Family

The court of first instance in Fez has just ordered the seizure of the assets of a dangerous criminal, a member of the armed gang responsible for the robbery of two armored vans transporting money, which occurred in Tangier about ten years ago. The assets of his brother and sister, prosecuted for money laundering, will also be seized.
The court ordered the seizure of all real estate, movable property and bank accounts of the three accused, who were also each sentenced to a suspended one-year prison sentence and a fine of 300,000 dirhams. The court rendered its verdict less than two months after its chamber in charge of money laundering cases was seized of the case.
The main accused, Mokhlis A., had been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Tangier Assize Court, a sentence he is serving in the Toulal 2 prison in Meknes. Unlike his brother and sister who were absent and were convicted in absentia, the man attended the hearing at the Fez court. His brother had received a 10-year prison sentence, reduced to 6 years on appeal.
