Moroccan Couple Sentenced for Running Brothel Network in Fez Apartments

The correctional chamber near the court of first instance of Fez sentenced a man and a woman to three years in prison with a fine of 50,000 DH each. The couple had converted several apartments into brothels.
In addition to the couple, sixteen other suspects involved in this case were also convicted, reports Aujourd’hui Le Maroc. Six of them were sentenced to two months in prison with probation and six others were fined 2,000 DH. The court acquitted four other suspects.
In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) reported that the law enforcement officers had simultaneously raided five apartments, located in different neighborhoods of the city of Fez, converted into brothels, on April 9. The operation was a success. The couple who rented and converted these apartments into a brothel were arrested. Sixteen other people - eight women and eight clients - were also arrested.
