Moroccan Couple Arrested for Smuggling Minors into Spain with Fake Passports

A Moroccan couple living in Móstoles, in the Madrid region, was apprehended by the National Police on suspicion of document forgery and violation of the rights of foreign citizens. They are accused of illegally bringing two Moroccan minors into Melilla using the passports of their own children.
The investigation, carried out by the Unit against Illegal Immigration and Document Forgery Networks (UCRIF) of Melilla, revealed that the woman traveled twice through the Beni-Enzar border post, each time accompanied by a minor. She used her daughter’s passport for the 17-year-old girl and her son’s passport for the 15-year-old boy, thus deceiving the police checks.
As for the man, he is said to have taken the boy to Málaga by sea, using the same method to circumvent the controls at the port.
The case was triggered at the end of July by the testimony of a 17-year-old Moroccan girl who presented herself to the local police in Melilla, claiming to have arrived clandestinely by boat. Her account alerted the investigators, who quickly traced the trail back to the Móstoles couple. The young girl was also arrested as part of this case.
