Moroccan Community Remains Largest Foreign Group in Spain, Surpassing 770,000

As of July 1st last year, there were some 771,683 Moroccans legally established in Spain. This figure is up 1.4% (+10,968 people) compared to January 1st of the same year, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
The INE points out that these figures consolidate the Moroccans’ position as the largest foreign community legally settled in Spain.
They are followed by Romanians, with 662,904 people, Britons (300,822), Colombians (289,139), Italians (274,463), Venezuelans (204,248), Chinese (197,657) and Germans (139,031), the same source reveals.
As of January 1, 2020, Spain had 47,351,567 inhabitants, an increase of 18,953 people compared to January 1, 2020. An increase in the population that, according to the same source, is explained by a rise of 99,183 people in the number of foreign nationals legally established in the country.
In total, there are nearly 42,000,000 people who are Spanish nationals. This figure is down 80,230 people, when referring to January 1, 2020 or when there were 5,326,089 foreigners.
