Moroccan Comedy Star Jailed Over Unpaid Actor Wages and Fraud Allegations

Abdelfettah Jouadi, Moroccan comedian and producer, was placed in detention on the orders of the Casablanca prosecutor’s office on Wednesday.
This decision was made following a complaint from the actors of the series "Trikat l’qanab", broadcast on Télé Maroc, who accuse Jouadi of not having paid them, according to Alyaoum24.
The accusations against the comedian are serious, ranging from fraud to breach of trust, including insult and threat. The actors behind the complaint stated before the King’s Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of Ain Sebaa that Jouadi did not respect the terms of the signed contract.
The King’s Prosecutor, who had previously given Jouadi a deadline to regularize the situation, was forced to act in the face of the latter’s obstinacy. Refusing any mediation, Jouadi is now incarcerated in the Oukacha prison in Casablanca.
