Moroccan Actor Sentenced in France for Domestic Violence and Death Threats

Abdelfattah Jaouadi was sentenced by the Grenoble Criminal Court to six months in prison with probation on Friday, October 18, 2019. The Moroccan comedian was accused of domestic violence and death threats against his partner.
The facts date back to September 12, the date on which the Moroccan comedian had been arrested in Échirolles, on suspicion of rape. This was enough to spark a lively controversy on social media, even an avalanche of denunciations in the Moroccan media.
The comedian "was visiting his children" at their mother’s home in Échirolles near Grenoble.
Under judicial supervision, Abdelfattah Jouadi, 39, finally appeared before the court on two counts of indictment: "repeated death threats on a spouse" and "habitual violence". Acts that would have been committed from May to September 2019. The comedian was sentenced to 6 months in prison with probation.
