Moroccan Civil Service Salaries Rise 15% Over Past Decade, Government Report Shows

Between 2012 and 2022, the average salary in the Moroccan civil service increased by 15.1%, according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
More specifically, this salary increased from 7,200 DH to 8,287 DH, an average annual increase of 1.42%, the government indicated in its report on State Human Resources accompanying the 2023 Finance Bill.
This increase is due to promotions and social dialogue agreements, the document notes, specifying that the kingdom has this year 565,430 civil servants, who have consumed 147.5 billion DH, or 10.8% of GDP, 35% of the general budget and 57.8% of the ordinary revenue of the State.
The same report also showed an increase in the average net salary within 5 ministerial departments. These are Higher Education (14,100 DH), Justice (12,459), Health (9,573), Education (8,989) and Economy and Finance (8,625). 81% of civil servants receive a salary between the minimum (3,500 DH in 2022) and 12,000 DH, the same source notes.
