A Moroccan city is increasingly attracting tourists

Spaniards are redrawing their map of the world and Morocco is occupying a prime spot. According to the latest "Viaje perfecto" report from the tour operator Soltour, the Kingdom is emerging as one of the top destinations for 2025, driven by a quest for authenticity and the unexpected rise of Fez.

Analysis of bookings for the year 2025 reveals a paradigm shift among our Iberian neighbors. While Spain remains their favorite playground and Cape Verde (particularly the island of Sal) creates a surprise by rising to second place, Morocco is confirming its status as a safe bet. The Kingdom is among the most sought-after destinations, alongside exotic heavyweights like Cancun, Punta Cana, or the Canary Islands.

But beyond the classics, it is the emergence of new cities that is marking this tourist year. The report highlights a strong progression of Fez in the rankings. The spiritual capital of the Kingdom is attracting a Spanish clientele eager to venture off the beaten path, now rivaling trendy European urban destinations like Tirana or Ljubljana. This trend validates the strategy of diversifying Morocco’s tourism offering, which is no longer solely focused on the Marrakech hub.

This ranking reflects a broader evolution in travel habits. According to Luis Santos, commercial director of Soltour, tourists are now seeking a balance between "classic destinations and emerging options," favoring flexibility and personalized experiences. With its geographical proximity and cultural richness, Morocco perfectly meets this dual demand for exoticism and accessibility.
