Moroccan City Dakhla Invests 72 Million Dirhams in Tourism Development Projects

The city of Dakhla is strengthening its attractiveness. Two corniche projects are currently under development to improve the city’s tourist offer.
The city of Dakhla will undergo major changes in the coming months. Aujourd’hui le Maroc reports that two projects totaling 72 million dirhams have been approved by the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Regional Council, with the aim of "improving the urban landscape and strengthening the attractiveness of the city, while further consolidating the tourist offer of this destination".
These two projects were the subject of a partnership agreement approved during an extraordinary session of the Regional Council, chaired by Khattat Yanja. Through this agreement, the financing and implementation of the project relating to the development of the Foum Labouir beach promenade and the strengthening of the Mohammed V Boulevard promenade in Dakhla, for a total amount of 72 million dirhams, with a contribution from the Regional Council of 40 million dirhams and a contribution from the Dakhla municipality of 32 million dirhams, will be ensured, the same source specifies.
In detail, it should be noted that the first axis of this agreement links the Wilaya of the region, the Regional Council and the Municipality of Dakhla, concerning the development of the Foum Labouir beach promenade overlooking the Atlantic Ocean over a length of 2 km. A budget envelope of 48 million dirhams will be devoted to this project, with a contribution from the Regional Council of 16 million dirhams and a contribution from the Dakhla Municipality of 32 million dirhams.
In short, these are two major structuring projects that are part of the "Integrated Development Program of Dakhla" and aim to give the city urban development, while allowing it to position itself among the most sought-after destinations in the world.
