Moroccan TV Channels Fined Millions for Excessive Advertising During Ramadan

The High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA) has just imposed fines on the 2m and Al Aoula channels for non-compliance with their specifications, particularly regarding the duration of advertising.
The Al Aoula channel was fined 800,000 dirhams for advertising sequences separated by only three minutes, whereas its specifications require a minimum of 20 minutes between advertising breaks, which should not exceed six minutes.
According to HACA, the first channel violated law 272 between May 17 and June 14, during the month of Ramadan.
The 2M channel was ordered to pay 3 million dirhams for the same reasons, namely the duration of advertising during a sliding hour (25 and 27 minutes!) in May 2018. HACA also noted 280 advertising sequences not exceeding one minute during Ramadan.
