Moroccan TV Channels Dominate Ramadan Ratings, Overshadowing MBC5 Launch

The new channel of the MBC5 group has flopped in Morocco. It simply missed the mark by relying on the Moroccan market.
Contrary to its forecasts, local channels have stolen the limelight from MBC5, according to the first polls conducted in Morocco. These local channels have managed to capture 75% of the television audience. The new satellite channel MBC5 has completely missed its raid on Moroccan broadcasting.
Over the first two days of the month of Ramadan, Moroccan channels captured the largest share of the television audience: "More than 75% in prime time," said the CEO of 2M, Salim Cheikh. According to him, the remaining 25% are divided between the total of satellite channels, or more than 1,000 channels. With pride, he announces that his channel alone has captured 55% of the audience share for these first two days.
According to the CEO, 2M has bet on the talent of Moroccan production during the month of Ramadan. The channel offers four daily Moroccan series in its Ramadan grid. "This is a first." These are the series ftour L’Coopérative, the social thriller Assir Almadfoune, the social drama Héritage and the sociological crime drama, Algharbia.
