Moroccan Businesswoman Jailed for Bad Check, Files Complaint Against Husband
The case of Hind Achabi is experiencing new twists and turns following the detention of the businesswoman in a dark story of issuing a bad check.
The businesswoman has just broken her silence by releasing a statement published by her lawyer. She acknowledges the authenticity of the check, however claiming that it, signed in blank, is dated July 2016. At that time, Achabi had just given birth and had entrusted her husband Karim Bennani to use it if necessary for the management of the airline Dalia Air.
About two weeks ago, her husband went to a BMCE agency to cash the check worth over 40 million dirhams, the lawyer continues, revealing that it was the husband who filed the complaint after learning that the check was bad.
A few days later, Hind Achabi was arrested by the police before being placed in custody. Unable to honor this debt, she was incarcerated in the Oukacha prison in Casablanca. She now intends to file a complaint against her husband for fraud and breach of trust. Answer in a few weeks in court.
