Moroccan Boxer Khadija El Mardi Wins World Heavyweight Title, Receives Royal Praise

Crowned world champion in the heavyweight category on Sunday, at the final of the world boxing championships in New Delhi, India, the Moroccan Khadidja El Mardi received the congratulations of King Mohammed VI.
In his message, Mohammed VI praised the efforts of the Moroccan boxer who fights in each competition to honor Morocco and establish it on the world stage. By winning the women’s world boxing title in the heavyweight (+81 kg) category, Khadidja El Mardi has, according to the king, achieved "a well-deserved feat" and has succeeded in consecrating "the remarkable presence of Moroccan women’s sport" during this international competition.
For this commitment to the service of the nation, the king also expresses to the Moroccan champion his most sincere wishes for success in her sports career, while assuring her of his high solicitude and benevolence.
