Moroccan Boxer Gholam Claims WBO Super-Featherweight Title with KO Victory in Barcelona

Moroccan boxer Moussa Gholam won the WBO (World Boxing Organisation) intercontinental super-featherweight (59 kg) title this Saturday, November 30 in Barcelona, after defeating Thai Suriya Tatakhun by KO.
The Moroccan fighter showed patience and tact to overcome his challenger. As for the Thai Suriya Tatakhun, 33, he used his experience to take the lead from the start of the fight. This strategy was effective until the 3rd round.
The Moroccan world champion very early on thwarted the traps of his challenger by putting more pressure on him with quick combinations followed by offset withdrawals and angle changes.
Moussa Gholam, for his part, exposed Suriya Tatakhun in the following rounds until pushing him to the limit. Backed into a corner, the living legend of Asian boxing could not withstand the agility and skill of his challenger, prompting the referee to intervene and stop the fight in the 10th round.
With this victory, Moussa Gholam wins the second title of his career, after winning the WBC (World Boxing Council) junior world title last February. He thus enters the world Top 100, and signs a flawless record of 15 wins in 15 fights, including 8 before the limit.
