Moroccan Border Town Fnideq Emerges as Economic Hub, Attracting Dozens of Businesses

Since the establishment of the economic activity zone (ZAE), about 60 merchants have settled there, benefiting from several advantages such as the facilitation of import-export procedures.
According to the Agency for the Promotion and Development of the North (APDN), individuals and companies established in the ZAE have a better chance of accessing all state incentives (direct and indirect subsidies, training, technical assistance, social security, health insurance, etc.).
Moreover, during the first 24 months of their installation, they will pay only 50% of the rent. In addition, they are offered many other facilities within all the administrations (ADII, MCI, the National Office of Food Safety and other control bodies) in order to support them in the development of their activities.
All the actors involved in the implementation of this economic activity zone have, among other things, made it possible to establish an industrial hub creating stable jobs at the level of the prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq. More than 1,362 food smugglers have been reintegrated in the meantime.
Similarly, for the account of the prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq and the province of Tetouan, two self-employment promotion programs have been launched with a budget of 9 million dirhams.
