Moroccan Border Agents Jailed for Aiding Drug Smugglers to Spain

Four auxiliary forces agents were sentenced to 3 years in prison with a fine of 15,000 dirhams each in Nador. They were tried for corruption and facilitating the illegal export of hashish.
Their arrest came after the discovery of a recording showing the facilitation of the passage of a large quantity of drugs to Spain in exchange for payment, reports Aujourd’hui le Maroc.
The investigation had resulted in the arrest of twelve other elements of the Auxiliary Forces, all members of the coastal surveillance team in Kariat Arekmane under the province of Nador. But only four were kept in detention.
Last Tuesday, the other ten elements involved in this case were found not guilty and acquitted.
