Moroccan Blue Pearl Chefchaouen Ranks 30th Among World's Most Beautiful Villages

A renowned travel platform places a Moroccan village in its ranking of the 50 most beautiful villages in the world.

Chefchaouen occupies the 30th place in the ranking of the 50 most beautiful villages in the world in 2025, established by the travel platform, Unforgettable Travel Company and published by Forbes. "Bathed in all shades of blue, Chefchaouen stretches across the rugged mountains of the Rif like a dream: its medina is a labyrinth of indigo alleys where ginger cats take a siesta on painted steps and vendors offer hand-woven rugs and rose-scented soaps. On the Uta El-Hammam square, mint tea steams next to saffron and apricot-filled tagines, while the 15th century Kasbah (a clay brick fortress) houses an Andalusian garden and an ethnographic museum," the platform describes.

It adds: "At the top of the hill, the Spanish mosque shines at sunset, its terrace offering a breathtaking view of the terracotta roofs and silvery olive groves. Meanwhile, at Ras El Maa (a natural spring), the icy mountain water cascades in front of the residents who are washing dyed wool carpets, and the air vibrates with eucalyptus."

Bibury (England) tops the ranking. This English village is followed by Hallstatt (Austria) and Reine (Norway). Giethoorn (Netherlands) is in fourth place. Then come Gásadalur (Faroe Islands), Oia (Greece) and Bourtange (Netherlands). Kotor (Montenegro), Shirakawa-go (Japan) and Batad (Philippines) complete the top 10. Eguisheim (France) takes 15th place, while Manarola (Italy) takes 16th place. Valldemossa (Spain) is in 17th place. Rothenburg ob der Tauber (Germany) and Marsaxlokk (Malta) complete the top 50.
