Moroccan Billionaire Eyes Sheffield Wednesday Takeover in English Championship

Moroccan billionaire Anas Sefrioui, CEO of the real estate group Addoha, is preparing to buy an English club.
The English club Sheffield Wednesday, currently in the Championship (second division), is in the sights of Moroccan billionaire Anas Sefrioui. The businessman is said to have hired a law firm to explore the terms of a potential acquisition, according to The SUN. Americans and Europeans are also showing interest in the club, but the Moroccan billionaire could beat them to it.
Dejphon Chansiri, who led a Thai consortium that bought Sheffield Wednesday from former chairman Milan Mandaric in January 2015, says he is ready to sell the club to "the right person, or the right group, in order to turn it around". Currently, this club founded in 1867 and based in South Yorkshire is going through a rough patch. Wednesday sits in 15th place in the standings and is struggling to get closer to the play-off zone. The current manager, Danny Rohl, who could work to revive the club, is expected to leave the Owls for Southampton this summer.
Financially, the club is not doing well. Sheffield Wednesday is facing financial troubles. Its potential takeover by the Moroccan billionaire could provide a breath of fresh air.
