Moroccan-Belgian Driver Sentenced to 3.5 Years for Ramming Ceuta Border Checkpoint

The kamikaze driver, arrested for having forced, on August 13, the control of the "Tarajal" border and tried to enter Ceuta from Morocco, was sentenced to three and a half years in prison.
This conviction was in line, according to judicial sources familiar with the defense and the prosecution, reports Ceuta Television.
The kamikaze at the wheel of a vehicle registered in Italy was arrested after a car chase with the security forces to intercept him. He had been arrested with a saber on the seat of his vehicle and then placed in custody.
The same source specifies that the driver, a Moroccan also holding Belgian nationality, was sentenced to three and a half years against 9 requested by the judge and to the payment of 11,000 euros in fines. The sentence had been negotiated by his lawyers before the court’s decision.
