Moroccan Automotive Hub Triples in Size as Tanger Free Zone Expands

The draft decree amending the one establishing the free zone, Tanger automotive city, has been validated by the Council of Government. This paves the way for the extension of this free zone, whose area is about to triple.
The area of Tanger automotive city (TAC) will increase from 178 hectares to 517 hectares. This is the scope of draft decree 2.19.744 amending decree 2.10.337 on the establishment of the free zone, Tanger automotive city, which was validated by the Council of Government.
According to Mustapha El Khalfi, Minister of Industry, Investment, Trade and Digital Economy, this extension will meet the strong demand for industrial land in the export free zone and satisfy the demands of Moroccan and foreign investors.
The extension of this free zone was indeed decided after examination and validation by the members of the National Commission of Export Free Zones, at their meeting on May 24, 2019.
Created in 2012, Tanger automotive city supports companies in the success of their establishment in the north of Morocco.
