Moroccan Authorities Seize 44 Tons of Hashish Bound for Spain in Major Drug Bust

The elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of Kénitra thwarted, on Sunday, April 19, a major cannabis resin trafficking operation destined for Spain. The operation was taking place on the maritime axis between the Chlihate beach and Moulay Bousselham.
The elements of the Royal Gendarmerie intercepted a total of 44 tons of hashish, worth eighty million dirhams, reports Al Massae. They also seized a Mercedes with a fake registration number, license plates and about twenty fuel cans.
The drug traffickers who were carrying out this operation with the complicity of other European traffickers, had time to flee. The gendarmes then proceeded to take fingerprints in order to identify them.
For now, an investigation is underway to shed light on this drug trafficking case and its local and international ramifications.
