Moroccan Authorities Seize 7 Tons of Cannabis in Major Casablanca Drug Bust

The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) has managed to thwart a major cannabis resin trafficking operation in Casablanca.
Seven people on board a truck and two utility vehicles were apprehended by BCIJ services in possession of seven tons of cannabis resin (chira) and a sum of 204,630 dirhams, on Boulevard Abdelkader Sahraoui in Casablanca.
Apparently intended for maritime trafficking, given the waterproofing of its packaging, the seized lot displayed eight distinct brands of goods. This finding refers to the hypothesis of the involvement of a network of traffickers.
Is it a network of traffickers at the international level? For now, the investigations are ongoing under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, in order to unravel the ramifications of this network at the national and international levels.
