Moroccan Authorities Refer Suspected Daesh-Linked Terror Cell to Prosecutors

The agents of the special force of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) have referred the four members of the terrorist cell linked to Daesh dismantled in Oujda to the public prosecutor’s office.
On Monday, the four members of the terrorist cell recently dismantled in Oujda were referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Appeal of Rabat. They are being prosecuted for forming a criminal gang that was planning attacks against several targets in Morocco.
The BCIJ elements had dismantled this jihadist cell on March 25 during simultaneous operations. Aged between 24 and 28 years old, the arrested terrorists "were planning to attack Moroccan soldiers and steal their weapons to use them against Algerian soldiers in order to provoke a war between Morocco and Algeria," said anti-terrorism experts. They had also planned to carry out attacks against a bank to finance their activities and target the interests of the United States, a privileged partner of the kingdom.
According to experts, many Moroccans have joined the camps of Al-Qaeda, Daesh, and AQIM in order to receive training on the use of weapons and explosives.
