Moroccan Athletes Receive Warm Welcome at Mediterranean Games in Algeria

The Moroccan delegation present in Algeria as part of the 19th edition of the Mediterranean Games in Oran was given a warm welcome upon arrival at the city’s airport.
On their arrival on Wednesday in the second largest city in Algeria, the Moroccans were indeed warmly applauded at the airport by the Algerians. They expressed their gratitude for the hospitality and special welcome they received, according to the local press.
"The welcome was excellent," testified a member of the Moroccan delegation. "We were very well received. Thank you very much," added a Moroccan athlete who launched a "khawa khawa (we are brothers)" to the Algerians. "We thank the Algerians for this very good welcome," said another athlete to Ennahar TV.
This participation of Morocco comes in a context of diplomatic crisis between the two countries. The opening ceremony scheduled for this Saturday will be "grandiose," said Salim Dada of the Oran 2022 Mediterranean Games Organizing Committee.
