Moroccan Artists Unite in Virtual ’We Are the World’ Performance Amid COVID-19 Crisis

At the initiative of Mohamed Meghraoui, a 22-year-old medical student in his fifth year, sixty Moroccan talents virtually sang "We are the world" to express their solidarity with their country in these times of covid-19 affecting the kingdom. The broadcast of the video has become viral on social networks.
The organizer of this initiative was inspired by the American song "Together at home" initiated by American star Lady Gaga to raise awareness about the importance of staying at home during this period of health crisis related to covid-19. This song had brought together 33 singing artists. 60 Moroccan talents participated in the Moroccan version.
Meghraoui assembled the videos that the artists shared with him from their homes into a single product. Just like the American artists, the Moroccan singers stressed the importance of staying at home, staying united and continuing to respect the rules of hygiene. "The world is going through very difficult times. We wanted to show our country that we can do incredible things by staying in our rooms. [...]," says the young medical student.
