Moroccan Artists Sue Egyptian Film Producer Over Unauthorized Song Use in "Casablanca" Movie

Artists DJ Van and Muslim have filed a complaint against the production company of the film "Casablanca" because it used their joint song, "Lghoul", in the film, without their authorization.
The production company, Talent Media, of the producer, Waleed Mansour, is the subject of a complaint filed by DJ Van, Moroccan DJ and producer, and by the rapper Muslim, concerning the use, without their agreement or respect for intellectual property or any compensation of any kind, of their song, "Lghoul", in the Egyptian action film, "Casablanca".
Goud.ma, which is relaying this information, specifies that the said song was used in the first scene of the Egyptian action film. It should be remembered that most of these scenes were shot in Morocco. The two artists would have, according to the same source, strongly condemned this lack of ethics on the part of the production company.
It should be noted that the film "Casablanca" brings together several Egyptian stars such as Amir Karara, Ghada Adel, Amr Abdel Galil, Dalal Abdel Aziz and Mahmoud El Bazzawy. Actors of other nationalities, including the Moroccan Mohamed Miftah or the Turkish actor Halit Ergenç, are also part of the cast. It is directed by Peter Mimi. The film deals, among other things, with the themes of love and corruption in the Arab world.
