Moroccan and Romanian Buyers Boost Spanish Real Estate Market Amid Brexit Fallout

Moroccan and Romanian nationals have helped to pull the Spanish real estate sector out of the state of lethargy that had marked it, since the announcement of Brexit precipitating the departure of the British.
While British citizens are showing less enthusiasm for Spanish real estate, official Spanish sources have confirmed the role played by Moroccans and Romanians in creating a balance in this market.
With an average growth of around 6% in the first months of the past year, buyers of the two nationalities have managed to make up for the shortfall left by their British counterparts, who were at the top of the list of real estate buyers.
Out of a total of 501,085 units sold in 2019, foreigners took possession of 63,000 houses, or 12.45% of real estate transactions. The news agency EFE specifies that Moroccans are in 3rd position, with 6.17% of sales, just behind the French and Germans.
