Moroccan and Belgian Suspects Arrested in Ceuta for Attempted Kidnapping and Shooting

Spanish police elements proceeded, on Friday in the Strait of Gibraltar, to the arrest of a Moroccan and two Belgians who would be involved in an attempted kidnapping and a shooting. These suspects would belong to a drug trafficking organization.
The events took place on Friday night in Playa Benitez in Ceuta. According to witnesses, men got out of a BMW that was speeding in the Benitez neighborhood after the car stopped. They tried to force a man into their car before opening fire.
Alerted, the police went to the scene. On their arrival, the victim was locked in the trunk of the kidnappers’ car. They tried to flee. Two got into a police van. Three others headed for the bushes. Thanks to the thermal cameras, the latter were located and arrested. They are two Belgians and a Moroccan. The Guardia Civil failed to arrest the other two.
Injured, the victim was admitted to a hospital. According to police sources, he owed two million euros to a drug trafficking organization, reports El Faro de Ceuta. The same source says that the organization hired the Belgians to carry out the kidnapping.
