Moroccan Ambassador Visits Survivor of Deadly Truck Convoy Attack in Mali

Hassan Naciri, Morocco’s ambassador to Mali, visited on Sunday, September 12, the survivor of the attack on Moroccan truckers in Bamako last Saturday. Two of them were killed in the attack.
The Moroccan diplomat visited on Sunday a private clinic where the Moroccan driver who survived the attack on a convoy of trucks was admitted, reports 2M. On Saturday, two Moroccan truckers were killed in the commune of Didiéni, about 300 km from Bamako, a third was injured and a fourth escaped unharmed.
According to witnesses, the assailants were hooded, wore bulletproof vests and had communication devices. They had hidden behind the trees along the road. The Moroccan embassy in Bamako is in contact with the competent authorities in both countries, as well as with the relatives of the Moroccan drivers to take the necessary measures, reported the MAP.
Similarly, a request for the opening of an investigation must be transmitted to the Malian authorities in order to elucidate the circumstances of this attack, and the necessary measures to be taken.
