Moroccan Airports See 14% Surge in Passenger Traffic, Exceeding 2.3 Million in Latest Month

Moroccan airports saw the passage last month of some 2,307,558 passengers, an increase of 14.64% compared to the same period last year.
Almost all the airports in the kingdom are in the green, particularly that of Marrakech (+24.31%), Rabat-Salé (+19.22%) Tangier (+19.11%), Nador (+16.89%), Agadir (+10.73%) and Fez (+10.04%), according to a press release from the National Airports Office (ONDA).
ONDA reports strong growth of 30.15% in domestic traffic, with 313,246 passengers welcomed, while international traffic was 1,994,312 people, also up 12.53% compared to last year’s figures.
Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca remains the largest in the country with a market share of 43.41%, followed by Marrakech Menara at 23.01%, Agadir Al Massira at 7.8%, the statement also said.
In terms of freight, April recorded 8,923.50 tons, compared to 7,503.19 tons in April 2018, an increase of 18.93%, according to the office.
