Morocco has a new airline created in 2020. Its name: Dlimi Airlines. In a statement to African Aerospace, its founder and CEO, Hamza Dlimi, said he has been in contact with the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer specialized in small and medium-sized civil aircraft, used in regional, business and agricultural aviation, Embraer, for the acquisition of two 195-E2 aircraft. "We would start with two planes and see how it evolves," he added.
On its website, Dlimi Airlines has announced that it plans to serve "most" of Morocco’s largest cities, as well as West Africa, the Canary Islands and France. The company is banking on the potential of nautical tourism - especially for kitesurfing - in Dakhla, a city located in the Moroccan Sahara. "There are 300 windy days a year," Hamza Dlimi pointed out. According to tourism websites, kitesurfing is the fastest growing water sport in Dakhla.
