Moroccan Air Force Pilots Train on Apache Helicopters in US Ahead of 2024 Delivery

Elements of the Royal Air Force (FAR) are currently in the United States where they are learning, for the first time, to pilot a combat helicopter Apache via the simulation system of the Utah National Guard, pending the delivery of 24 AH-64 Apache helicopters to Morocco by 2024.
After the announcement, on Thursday, September 21, of the very first flight carried out by a Moroccan officer on board an AH-64D attack helicopter, it is the turn of two FAR officers to pilot this aircraft via the AH-64D/E LCT Apache flight simulator, belonging to the 1st Battalion of the 211th Aviation Regiment of the Utah National Guard, in the United States, reports the Far-Maroc forum.
On its Facebook page, the forum reported that September 24 was a historic day for Captains Harbouli and Azhari, who are the first Moroccans to pilot the AH-64D/E LCT Apache simulator. "We are continuing the process of training pilots and technicians in preparation for the delivery of the Apache combat helicopters in the coming years," the same source points out.
In June 2020, a contract had been concluded between the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and the American manufacturer Boeing for the acquisition of 24 AH-64 Apache helicopters. This order is to be delivered by 2024.
